Acon Digital DeVerberate provides a graphical interface for controlling direct and reverberated signal levels in digital audio tracks using advanced algorithms, in order to either reduce or increase this effect, depending on the user's preference.

The complete package includes a x86 and x64 plugin for VST, along with an AAX plugin for ProTools. At this phase, it's evident that you must have a compatible VST application installed to be able to use this plugin. Once setup is over, you can access DeVerberate from the host's UI.

Reduce or increase reverb effect on digital audio

The goal of this tool is to separate the direct and reflected signals, regardless of the number of audio channels involved. A histogram is shown to help you easily visualize these two signals, ranging from spectral level to emphasis filter. The levels resulted by dividing the signals can be then manipulated independently, in order to either attenuate or boost reverberation.

As far as configuration settings are concerned, you can set the reverb time (in seconds), enable automatic estimation for the reverb time, change the input reverb level (dB), as well as set the output dry and reverb levels.

• While earlier versions of DeVerberate successfully focused on the suppression of late reverberation, typically the diffuse reverb tail arriving 20 to 30 milliseconds after the direct sound, the first reflections to arrive after the direct sound were left untouched.
